NOTICE
A "Dr. Strangelove" Fan-Poem

I sit here silently,
Hoping you'll turn around & see me...
I wait with bated breath,
Wondering if you know I'm here?
I see you talking with the nurses
In the hospital's staff lounge,
Laughing & smiling in your cheerful way,
As you usually do, my dear...

You don't know, Mary,
But I've had my eye on you for the longest time...
I've fallen head over heels in love,
And you're the object of my affections!
I want to spend my life with you,
But do you feel the same?
Oh, show me that you care for me!
Won't you pay me some attention?

Sometimes, I wonder if I'm good enough
To be your friend or lover...
After all, I am a cripple, an ex-Nazi,
And some folks say that I'm a bit *too* weird!
I always get so insecure,
But every time you're with me,
You always seem to calm my nerves
And vanquish all my fears!

Your loving, doting husband
Is what I want to be,
So won't you humor me, dear Mary,
And make my dream come true?
I don't know if you notice,
But you're the woman of my dreams!
You make me feel complete,
And I can't live without you...

But what's this?

You turn your gaze in my direction,
Finally seeing me!
You take a few steps forward,
With that smile still on your face...
You greet me with a sweet "hello"
And kiss me on the cheek,
Then lead me off to talk with you
In a more quiet place...

It's good to chat & laugh with you,
As dear friends often do...
Oh, someday, I hope you & I
Can start a life anew!
If you'll just promise to abide
With me for all my days,
I'll be the happiest man alive!
Oh, will you ever notice, liebe,
How much I need you in my life...
How much I pine for you?
Ah, what's this? :D We have another poem for the "Dr. Strangelove" fandom, told from the perspective of the Gut Doktor himself! ^_^ This poem focuses on Dr. Strangelove's (deep) attraction to my OC Mary Albright, & his hopes that she will take notice of his romantic feelings for her.

If you don't quite "get" the poem at first, it'll be easier to understand when you've read certain chapters of my fanfiction, "The Memoirs Of Dr. Strangelove"...which have yet to be written or posted, unfortunately. :blushes: (I've only completed two chapters out of this novel-length fanfiction, &, because of this, I will admit that I originally debated posting the tie-in works, like "Wedding Night" & "Nighttime Reverie", when much of the fic was--& still is--unfinished.) But in any case, I do hope you enjoy the poem. :D And I hope I didn't spoil anything for you. ^^;

And now, for a brief copyright & disclaimer:
:bulletred: All "Dr. Strangelove" characters, properties, & elements (C) Stanley Kubrick & Columbia Pictures.
:bulletred: The above poem (C) The Mouse Avenger (that's me). I kindly ask that you please don't swipe it or use it without permission...'cause if you do, I'll go barracuda on you! :rage: And I'll also be a very sad mousey... :(

When you're finished reading, please be sure to leave feedback when you're done. I'll take anything from comments to constructive criticism, as long as they're not flames or delivered in an overly-harsh, stern, or mercilessly-nitpicky manner.

Well that was interesting and very endearing. I happened to like your little rhythm for that particular poem. The structure wasn't too long and it was very nice. It sounded sweet enough and even sorta softie like. Maybe you could make a second version of this in the Gut Dokter's own language? That would be interesting since he's from Germany by the sound of it. Why not? It would seem more in character also. Though there is a lack of description in this one I think, but none the less, it's still good. I think you could have added in a few more versus though.
