IDEAS FOR CLASSICAL MUSIC PIECES TO USE DURING CERTAIN PARTS OF GMD 2 (WITH THE ASSIGNED COMPOSERS, OF COURSE)

*"The Planets: Neptune" (as performed by Wendy Carlos)
Will serve as Madame Ratburn's theme

*"Concerto No. 2 In D, For Cello" by Haydn
Used during the entirity of the "Flavershams" sequence at the beginning of the film, starting with the opening credits

*"Morning" from Grieg's "Peer Gynt" Suite
Used when Olivia first wakes up at Basil's house, starting with the part where the two birds appear on the tree branch outside her bedroom window

*Electronic version of Mozart's "Violin Concerto No. 3 In G-Major" (as performed by Wendy Carlos)
Used during the opening shots of the London Mouse Mini-Mall & the two montages of the Baker Street Family's shopping spree.

*Bela Bartok's "Music For Percussion, Strings, & Celesta (Movement 3)"
Used during the entirity of the first part of the "The Nefarious Mouses Fiennes" sequence, starting when Basil arrives at the Fish-&-Chips Pub, before playing throughout the scene as he enters the alley & begins searching in vain for the "missing mice" he was warned about earlier, then continuing during his subsequent search for clues, his attack by Mouses Fiennes, & the villain's departure from the alley, & finally ending with Olivia's discovery of the accident at Basil's window & her report to the Baker Street Family of what she has seen

*"Music For The Funeral Of Queen Mary" by Henry Purcell
Used during the camera's journey through the sewers to Mouses' hideout & the following scene with the thugs bowing to their master & giving their praise.

*"Rule Britannia" (as composed by Sir Edward Elgar, with sung words by choir)
Used when the Baker Street Family stops at Buckingham Palace & in the establishing shot of said palace, up to the moment where we cut into the royal bedchambers & first see Queen Mousetoria with Josie & Jenny

*Opening drums & strings intro from "The Thieving Magpie"
Used when Queen Mousetoria & the Baker Street Family first meet at Buckingham Palace

*"Maple Leaf Rag" by Scott Joplin
Played by Don The Pianist during the first part of the Rat Trap Family Restaurant sequence, just after the Baker Street Family makes its way through the doors up to the part where Rosie & Ned come on

*"Sabre Dance" by Aram Khachaturian (as performed by the Rat Trap Band)
Used during the first part of the Rat Trap Family Restaurant sequence, when Rosie The Ribbiter & Ned The Newt perform their famous unicycling act for the customers...on a tightrope over a "sea of 'dangers'"!

*"The Blue Danube" by Johann Strauss
Used during Ratigan's humorous attempt to help Mrs. Judson clean the kitchen.

*"Piper's Maggot Jig" (a.k.a. Ben Flaherty's theme song)
Used when Ben Flaherty makes his first appearance with his mother, Madame Flaherty

*"Marche Militaire" by Schubert
Used during the scene where the members of the 66th Regiment first appear during the grand "welcoming-the-troops-home" parade

*"Dream Of A Witches' Sabbath", from "Symphonie Fantastique" by Berlioz (the beginning portion, ending at the 2:44 mark)
Used when the Baker Street Family & Madame Ratburn start gaining up on Mouses' mega-dirigible after the crime lord & his thugs have managed to temporarily elude their enemies, followed by the B.S.F. & Madame Ratburn's second "fursuit" of the mega-dirigible, & the rival parties' eventual crash-landing onto the rooftop of a two-story human's house (resulting in the destruction of the B.S.F.'s balloon in the process)

*"The Planets: Mars, The Bringer Of War" (from the very first nanosecond of the piece up to the 3:25 mark)
Used during the first few minutes of the climactic rooftop battle at the end of the movie

*"Dies Irae", from "Dream Of A Witches' Sabbath" (between the 2:44 & 4:56 marks)
Use THIS particular section of the music during the part in the climactic battle where Gary takes his gun, sneaks up on the Baker Street Family by crawling furtively on his belly along the surface of the peaked gables of the rooftop, pops up from behind the brick chimney (with an evil smile & a cry of "Heeeeere's GARY!"), aims his loaded pistol at the Baker Street Family, & fires shots at them, only to have his gun magically plugged-up by Madame Ratburn (as well as in a few more battle scenes [immediately following afterwards] between the Baker Street Family, Madame Ratburn, Mouses, & his thugs)

*Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" (between the 4:15 to 5:17 marks)
Used during parts of the climactic rooftop battle at the end.

*Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" (between the 6:00 to 10:25 marks)
Used during parts of the climactic rooftop battle at the end.

*"Dream Of A Witches' Sabbath", from "Symphonie Fantastique" by Berlioz (starting at the 4:56 mark, & going up to the very last nanosecond of the piece)
Used during the last several minutes of the climactic rooftop battle scene at the end, with the end of the song (starting at the 9:08 mark) coinciding with Mouses & the thugs' shaky descent down the shingles of the rooftop in their deflated mega-dirigible, their vows to seek revenge on the Baker Street Family & take over the mouse world (so they can begin their Reign Of Terror), & their subsequent fall from the rooftop into a passing, horse-drawn human's cart (filled to the brim with plenty of hay & straw to cushion their landing) as they make their way across town, heading in the direction of the entrance to the sewer lair by the Fish & Chips Pub

*The first 44 seconds of Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture"
Used when the Baker Street Family & Madame Ratburn celebrate their victory after the (temporary) defeat of Mouses & his thugs, followed by their return to Basil's house on Baker Street (where Madame Ratburn will proceed to tell the B.S.F. of the future that awaits Mouse London's "newest batch of heroes"--that's them, of course)

*"Pomp & Circumstance: March 1"
Played during the beginning of the graduation scene at the end of the movie, in the moments before Ratigan receives his diploma.

*Last part of "Pomp & Circumstance: March 4"
Played during the graduation scene at the end of the movie, from the moment Ratigan receives his diploma at Oxford up to the very last second of the sequence.

List is incomplete; more additions coming soon
One of the things I always thought would be interesting is that if GMD 2 does get made into a film, it would be a cool idea to use snippets of classical music in the score during particular scenes or sequences. The list--or what I've done of it so far (like I said above, it's incomplete, & will be subject to updates at any time)--has been put up on DA for your personal viewing pleasure. I hope you enjoy reading it, & if it's not too much trouble, I would also like to hear your thoughts on it. :)
