PLOT OUTLINE

:bulletred: The year is 1918.  World War I has ended, & Captain Tom Rogers is returning to his solitary cabin in the woods near Portland, Maine after having served in said war.  The old man lives a lonely life, having lost his beloved fiancee Sarah many years ago...& being unable to move on past her death, to the point where he has become a sorrowful, bitter, sullen person.
:bulletred: Shortly after coming back home, Tom is surprised to receive a visitor at his doorstep--a 12-year-old girl named Julienne, who has wandered her way through the woods after escaping from a fire that killed her parents.
:bulletred: Overcome with compassion for Julienne, Tom decides to let the little lass into his home, not realizing that this will spark a deep friendship between him & Julienne.
:bulletred: Over the course of the next year, Tom & Julienne bond together, & become closer to one another--mainly by playing with toys & other playthings, playing games, going shopping, visiting the local sites, listening to the radio, drawing & coloring pictures, making crafts, reading, singing songs, dancing, going on nature hikes, going to circuses & other fun places, putting on plays & puppet shows, cooking, going to the beach, celebrating birthdays & holidays, meeting new friends in town, attending church, listening to the music of the former's prized violin, playing in the snow, etc.
:bulletred: Finally, after a fateful discussion about their respective pasts, Julienne becomes sick with pneumonia, & despite Tom's attempts to mitigate her condition, she ultimately passes away.
:bulletred: However, Julienne is able to comfort & bid "goodbye" to Tom in spirit form, & is reunited with her parents in Heaven.  This helps Tom be able to move on with his life, & he goes on to have a wife & children of his own.  But he will never forget Julienne, the little girl who taught him how to live again.

FILM NOTES (Currently incomplete)

:bulletred: When he first meets Julienne, Tom is a
:bulletred: On her first day at Tom's house, Julienne realizes that she needs new clothes, & after Tom attempts to take her measurements (with humorous results), the young girl suggests that the two go to nearby Portland, where "a seamstress could help" measure her properly
:bulletred: Tom, being a recluse, initially balks at the prospect (especially when he remembers that his late wife Sarah first met him at the clothing shop)...but he is soon persuaded by Julienne to take her to Portland
:bulletred: Gradually, as the movie progresses, Julienne helps Tom become increasingly comfortable with going out into the city, which plays a huge role in the process of Tom returning to "his old self" again
:bulletred: One day, at the start of the movie's third act, Tom & Julienne are racing on rollerskates, & when Tom tries to catch up with Julienne, he accidentally bumps into someone...none other than his future wife, Rebecca!
:bulletred: Over the course of the movie's third act, Tom & Rebecca fall deeper & deeper in love with each other, while Julienne witnesses (& even plays a role in) the progression of their relationship
:bulletred: Incidentally, both Sarah & Rebecca will be portrayed by Marcia Gay Harden
:bulletred: During his time in the military, Tom was one of many soldiers who piloted airplanes that dropped mustard gas on enemy troops ("You wouldn't wanna hear all the details," he tells Julienne during their first breakfast together)
:bulletred: Incidentally, Julienne is very surprised to hear that Tom was in "the Great War", & is very engrossed in her caretaker's tales of his military exploits
:bulletred: Julienne's last name is Warner, & her middle name is Faye

I know a lot of you have been waiting for me to upload new art & written works, & I have not forgotten about that. :) It's just that I have LOTS & LOTS & LOTS of stuff I've drawn & written over the last 6 years--even earlier than that, in fact!--& it's gonna take me quite a while to upload every picture & piece of literature.  Just be patient, folks, & my gallery will be chock-full of new stuff before you know it! ;)

In the meantime, here's a little something I finished several months ago, related to one of my original film projects, "Julienne"! :D I hope to upload character bios, pictures of the cast, song lyrics, & small snippets of the script soon. :) In the meantime, here's your first look at the movie with this handy-dandy plot summary, which comes complete with a song listing, along with additional ideas & information about the film! :D

So, what do you think of the story? :) Do tell me your thoughts! :D

When you're finished reading, please be sure to leave feedback when you're done. I'll take anything from comments to constructive criticism, as long as they're not flames or delivered in an overly-harsh, stern, or mercilessly-nitpicky manner.
