Cool "Great Mouse Detective" journal header to be posted here eventually... (Ahem...)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you may or may not know, my biggest wish in life is to join the Walt Disney Studios & have my "Great Mouse Detective" sequel "A New Beginning" transformed from a fanfiction into a full-length, animated feature film. :D However, I get so busy talking about GMD 2 that I always forget to discuss the *other* Disney sequel that I want to have made into a real film: "The Rescuers 3: The Great Adventure".

Now, many of my DA peeps have probably not heard of that story (unlike GMD 2), so let me explain what it's about.  TR3 takes place about 10 years after "The Rescuers Down Under" ends.  Bianca & Bernard's careers in the Rescue Aid Society continue to blossom, & the married couple are living happily together in their ' Porcelain Pagoda ' house with their two young mouselings, Fuschia (their biological--er, birth--daughter) & Mischa (whom Bianca & Bernard adopted two years after Fuschia was born).  Meanwhile, Jake has since married Bianca's cousin, the fashion designer Sunflora Jaxith, & taken up residence with her & his pet fly Sparky in her condo in Sydney.

At the beginning of the story, Bianca & Bernard decide to take Fuschia & Mischa on a family trip to Honolulu, Hawaii (where they agree to meet up with Jake, Sunflora, & Sparky, who will be joining the Roberts--er, Rescuers--family on their vacation).  After packing up all the things they need & making the necessary preparations for their vacation, Bianca, Bernard, Fuschia, & Mischa embark to Albatross Airlines--only to be greeted by Milton, the father of Orville & Wilbur (who have decided to temporarily retire from their jobs, as a result of their misadventures in the previous films) & the original founder of the establishment.  Milton takes quite a liking to Bianca, Bernard, & their children, & is more than happy to transport them to Honolulu.

As soon as the Roberts family boards the sardines-can plane-seat, Milton takes off &, on the next morning, makes a rough landing in front of the hotel where Bianca, Bernard, Fuschia, Mischa, & the others will be staying during their vacation.  The Roberts family checks into the hotel, enters their room, & begins unpacking; it isn't long before Jake, Sunflora, & Sparky arrive & greet Bianca, Bernard, Fuschia, & Mischa.  After the mice share a fond reunion, they finish unpacking & getting settled in, before Jake proposes that everyone go for a round of sightseeing to kick off the vacation.  The Roberts family & co. go about & tour the streets near their hotel, before stopping for dinner at a nice restaurant by the shore.  After Bianca, Bernard, et. al are done with the meal, they go out on the beach to take part in a big luau party; when the festivities are over, they sit together on the shore to do some stargazing, before going back to their hotel & retiring for the night.

As the film progresses, the Roberts family's vacation only gets better & better; loads of adventures, island escapades, sightseeing, shopping, & summer fun ensue....but at one point, late at night, the trip must come to a hiatus when Bianca, Bernard, & their loved ones receive a message from the Chairmouse of the Rescue Aid Society claiming that a young Hawaiian girl named Aloha Kikiona has been kidnapped by wanted felon Tito Pakalini & is being held hostage in his secret hideout, located deep in the jungles of Hawaii; the Chairmouse urges that Bianca, Bernard, & their family take the case, as they are already in Hawaii & are lodging not too far from where Aloha is imprisoned.

Though Fuschia & Mischa (as well as Jake, Sunflora, & Sparky) are disappointed that their vacation activities will have to come to a temporary pause until Aloha is rescued & returned to her parents, they are also very excited at the prospect of the adventure that lies ahead & are eager to help their parents in their mission.  As soon as Bianca, Bernard, & the others meet up with Milton, they fly off for the jungles of Hawaii, & after landing near the hill where Tito's secret hideout is located, they begin to sneak their way into the complex...only to be blocked by Tito's pet python, Pele.  Pele is just about to make a meal out of the Roberts & co., but Aloha--the captive child in need of rescuing--manages to keep her away from them & lets the mice hide in her satchel made of woven grass.  Aloha then enters Tito's house, where she rests her satchel down on her makeshift bed & warns the Rescuers not to come out unless she says it is safe for them to do so--otherwise, Tito, who has heard information about our heroes & their associations with the Rescue Aid Society, will recognize them & get rid of them before they can help her escape.

Two days pass, & Tito (as well as Pele) keeps a close watch on Aloha, monitoring her every move & deciding when she eats, sleeps, goes out for exercise, etc.  "Until your parents hand me the ransom money," he warns, "I will do everything in my power to make sure that you are kept under my control...& to make sure that no one interferes with my plans--otherwise, things could end up very badly for you, my dear."  On the morning of the third day, however, when Tito is clearing the trees near his hideout to look for firewood, Aloha & the Rescuers take the opportunity to make their escape.  Milton quietly arrives, & once the Rescuers have boarded the sardines-can on his back, he grabs a nearby rope & offers it to Aloha; he clutches one end of the rope in his claws, & as he takes off into the skies, he lifts Aloha off the ground & begins transporting her away from the hideout...

...but at the last moment, however, Tito looks up & sees Milton transporting Aloha--& our heroes--away; in a rage, he drops what he's doing & immediately takes pursuit after them.  So begins a very suspenseful & climactic chase that goes from Tito's hideout & through the jungles of Hawaii, but eventually, Milton, Aloha, & the Rescuers escape & manage to make it to the safety of Aloha's hut, where she is reunited with her parents (along with her pets Momo the monkey & Iolani the scarlet macaw).  Meanwhile, Tito--not yet realizing that his ex-kidnapee has already escaped--continues to dash madly through the jungle, but just as he makes it out through the last of the brush, he is ambushed & taken into custody by police.  After Aloha & her family share a loving reunion & thank the Rescuers for all their help, the humans & the mice bid "goodbye" to one another; then Milton transports the Rescuers back to their hotel.

During the next couple of days, our heroes spend the last part of their vacation, & after the trip finally concludes with a special surprise "thank you / goodbye" luau that Aloha & her folks have thrown for them, the Rescuers board Milton one last time & leave Honolulu for New York City.  When they get back, they are requested by the Chairmouse to come to the Rescue Aid Society meeting hall for an important meeting; the mice arrive at the R.A.S. H.Q., where they are greeted by a wildly-cheering throng comprised of the multi-ethnic mouse agents, who are more than happy to see that the triumphant family has returned from their mission.  The Chairmouse gladly commends Bianca & Bernard for their accomplishment, & not only does he promote them to super-agents, but he also appoints Jake as the Australian delegate, makes Fuschia, Mischa, Sunflora, & Sparky honorary members of the R.A.S., & awards the family with the illustrious Most Caring Mice award.  From that point on, everyone (except for Tito) lives happily ever after. ^_^

So....what do you think of the story? If you have any comments, critique, ideas, questions--anything of the sort--don't hesistate to offer them. :) The only thing I ask in return is that they are delivered to me in a nice, non-flamey, & unharsh manner.
